Lauren was such an energetic little girl, so full of joy and wonder. She loved going up and down the stairs until her hair stood on end from so much static electricity. She really loved getting pushed around the house on her tricycle; the faster she went the bigger her smile. “Uh-Oh” was her favorite word prompting Mommy and Daddy to dive for whatever she just dropped. Tossing fresh laundry out of a basket, and climbing in was a great game to her, so Daddy would give her laundry basket rides throughout the house. Lauren also loved being chased by Mommy and Daddy outside, as well as swinging at the local park, reading books, coloring on paper, and playing with her puppy.
We will never forget her infectious giggle and smile that affected all of those around her. We will never forget the undeniable love that she had for her blankie (her “bah”) and sucking her left thumb. Nor will we ever forget what a great eater and sleeper she was.
Lauren taught us that at the end of the day, no matter how hectic or stressful life became the only thing that mattered was coming home to her. Whether it was hearing her say “da-da” or “ma-ma”, having her arms outstretched wanting to be picked up for a hug or a kiss, or slapping a book in our laps and excitedly moving her arms in a motion that told us she wanted to be read to.
As her parents, we treasure the precious memories and love that she gave to us. We put all the love and energy we had into raising our special little girl and will always be sad that it was not enough to bring her back one afternoon in December, as she passed away during her nap. She will continue to live on in our hearts forever.
