We also would like to thank our generous community sponsors for making this event possible last year and for the current year. Last year's event raised over $20K and had over 400 participants! This money went to fund important grants to continue crucial research into SUDC research and Long QT Syndrome research, which causes some unexplained deaths. The generosity in your donations lends much to the spirit of this of last year's event and brings a promising start to Lauren's 2nd Annual Run for a Reason. In honor of Lauren, this year's race proceeds will help fund SUDC research.

Drawing tickets are $1 and come in books of 10.  The fundraising drawing will be held at 11:30am on race day at Bunker Hills Park.  Winners of the drawing tickets need not be present to win.  40+ Prizes include:

Benefiting the Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) Program

This year, Michael and Sheila Trymucha will sponsor their second annual event to raise funds and awareness for the Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) Program. It is being held in memory of their daughter, Lauren Trymucha, who died unexpectedly in December 2007.

"As parents who lost their child over a year ago to SUDC, it has proven to be an un-ending nightmare and one that remains without answers. Doctors are still unable to explain what happened to our happy, healthy, thriving little girl and its devastating to not know 'Why?'.

"We feel that the only thing we can

 

continue to do is to put all of our energy into raising money for SUDC research so that someday there will be an explanation as to what happened to Lauren and to prevent other families from going through this terrible tragedy".
